Minutes after reeling from Nigeria’s loss of their opening match, power duo Beyonce and JayZ gave Nigerians and indeed the entire planet the surprise of their lives.
The pop couple pulled off yet another stunt of no forewarning and prior promotion and grabbed international headlines with the release of their nine track album titled, “Everything is love”. Following a concert in London, the joint release appeared initially only on the streaming service Tidal — owned in part by Jay-Z and Beyoncé — at around 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.
After their respective albums, “Lemonade” and “4:44”,Jay Z told New York Times in November of 2017 that he and Beyonce would be working together. “We were using our art almost like a therapy session,” he said. “And we started making music together.” The album came with a video for the song “Apes**t” directed by Ricky Saiz, which according to representatives was shot on location at the Louvre in Paris last month. Let’s not even get into the mind blowing discovery that is renting the entire Louvre, The Carters have once again proved unbeatable in their act and have set themselves apart from the pack.
We’re keeping our fingers crossed as “Everything Is Love” will be eligible for Grammy Awards at the 2019 show.
